SOUTH COWICHAN – South-end folks are worried a proposed rock quarry expansion at Bamberton will spell noise, dust and water pollution.
The mines ministry is seeking comments from the Cowichan Valley Regional District about an application by Malahat First Nation’s Malahat Investment Corporation to amend the quarry’s current permit.
The new larger quarry with planned rock crushing, washing and screening would cover about 40 hectares on six properties.
Most are zoned for rural resource use. Two are zoned heavy industrial.. Read Full Story >
